Half Moon Dentistry Canadian Dental Care Plan

What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan, also called the CDCP, is a Government of Canada dental benefit created to help make oral health care more affordable for eligible Canadian residents who do not have access to private dental insurance.

The plan helps cover many preventive, diagnostic, restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, periodontal, and oral surgery services. Coverage is administered by Sun Life on behalf of the Government of Canada.

Applications for the 2026–2027 benefit year are currently open through the Government of Canada. Coverage for that benefit year runs from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

Who may qualify?

You may qualify for the CDCP if you meet the Government of Canada eligibility requirements.

No private dental insurance

You must not have access to private dental insurance through work, school, pension, professional coverage, or purchased insurance.

Family income under $90,000

Your adjusted family net income must be less than $90,000.

Canadian tax resident

You must be a Canadian resident for tax purposes and have filed your tax return for the previous year.

Eligibility is determined by the Government of Canada, not by Half Moon Dentistry.
