Dr. Tania McIntosh
Born and raised in Managua, Nicaragua, Dr. Tania McIntosh earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua, graduating magna cum laude in 2004. She later completed advanced postgraduate training in prosthetic and implant dentistry in Buenos Aires, Argentina before moving to Canada in 2011 and becoming licensed to practice in British Columbia.
As the owner of Half Moon Dentistry, Dr. Tania is passionate about caring for children, teens, adults, and seniors throughout Surrey, White Rock, Langley, and the surrounding communities. Her years practicing in a children’s dental office helped shape the gentle, patient-centered approach she now brings to every family she serves.
Dr. Tania believes exceptional dentistry begins with listening, building trust, and helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and genuinely cared for. She combines evidence-based dentistry, modern technology, and compassionate care to help every patient achieve lifelong oral health and a confident smile.
Outside the office, Dr. Tania enjoys spending time with her husband, Thomas, their daughter Miranda, and family and friends. She also loves hiking, walking, and exploring the beautiful trails of British Columbia.

Dr. Nancy Vertel is a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry dedicated to helping children build healthy smiles in a caring, supportive environment. She earned both her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and Master of Science in Craniofacial Science from the University of British Columbia and has devoted her career to providing exceptional care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs.
In addition to caring for patients at Half Moon Dentistry, Dr. Nancy serves as a Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry, is on staff at BC Children’s Hospital, and holds hospital privileges at both public and private facilities. As both a pediatric dentist and a mother, she understands the importance of creating positive dental experiences for the entire family.
Dr. Nancy remains committed to lifelong learning through advanced education in pediatric dentistry, sedation, developmental disabilities, special needs care, behaviour guidance, and hospital dentistry. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and maintains active memberships with many of Canada’s and North America’s leading pediatric dental organizations.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys giving back to the community through the Special Olympics BC – Special Smiles program while continuing to advocate for accessible, compassionate dental care for every child.
